Lori Harvey is trying to live her life and not look back — but the Beverly Hills Police Department had other plans.
According to reports, Steve Harvey’s stepdaughter was arrested this weekend for a hit and run, as well as delaying a police investigation.
The department told E! News the starlet hit a parked vehicle on the 200 block of Moreno Drive in El Lay on Sunday. According to OK!, which first reported the news and cited an eye witness, Lori ended up flipping her Mercedes SUV into another vehicle in the accident — and apparently didn’t stick around for the Q&A with police.
The source claims the 22-year-old had been texting and driving at the time of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly tried to pull her from her car, but she instead attempted to flee the scene.
Officials said Lori was apprehended nearby after police received a call for the accident at around 9:48 at night. Once authorities arrived, she began FaceTiming her famous stepdad. Instead of being booked, she received a misdemeanor citation.
The alleged hit and run comes on the heels of an already stressful week for the starlet, who had reportedly recently ended her rumored romance with Sean “Diddy” Combs. As we reported, the model unfollowed the Bad Boy mogul on Instagram after he was spotted lunching with actress Nicole Olivera at Nobu in El Lay last weekend.
Harvey and Diddy first sparked dating rumors when she was spotted at the same Malibu hotspot arriving in his silver Maybach. The rumored romance sent fans into a tizzy, seeing as Lori was previously linked to Diddy’s 25-year-old son, Justin Combs.
While neither Lori nor Diddy have publicly commented on the nature of their relationship, a source told E! News the two had a “fun fling” that is now over, explaining:
“Him and Lori had a fun fling but Diddy is still healing and focusing on himself right now. He is not ready to be in a long-term committed relationship and is focusing on his kids right now.”
We’re sure Justin’s especially excited his daddy called off the romance. LOLz!
Jokes aside, Diddy has been going through it the past year following the untimely death of his on-again-off-again girlfriend and baby momma, Kim Porter. Interestingly enough, Lori shared her thoughts on Kim’s passing after the fact in November 2018, writing in an IG post:
“Having a hard time processing this one… You were such a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for always being so sweet and loving to me. I’m so glad I told you how much I loved and missed you last time I saw you. Your energy was truly something special. An angel on earth and now in heaven. RIP Momma Kim.”
Kind words. But stop texting and driving, girl, before someone seriously gets injured!
